Active Rehabilitation Clinic
- four-hour program (five days per week) designed to return workers to pre-injury levels of function and activities
- focus is on individual needs while working in a healthy, group environment in the downtown YMCA
- included is an initial assessment with a physiotherapist, individual strength and conditioning program, core strength, education, functional and work simulation activities and hydrotherapy
Job-Site Visit
- on-site visit with the worker and employer to examine critical job demands and explore opportunities for a gradual return to work
- report details job-site visit findings and lists appropriate recommendations
Graduated Return-to-Work Plan
- determination of current injury statue and limitations based on communication with the client, employer, physician, physiotherapist and other health care workers (and possible job site visit)
- plan ensures a safe and durable return to work
Gradual Return-to-Work Monitoring
- weekly contact with the worker and employer to ensure that the goals of the gradual return-to-work plan are being met and to deal with any problems that may arise
At-Work Injury Rehabilitation
- for clients who have sustained a soft-tissue injury and need to continue with active rehabilitation during their part- or full-time job hours
- includes assessment, ongoing education and support, treatment and exercise-based rehabilitation
Ergonomic Assessment
- on-site evaluation of one or many work stations with an injured worker
- report identifies risk factors, recommends ways to reduce them (including improvements to work station ergonomics and flow of activity) and outlines a gradual return to work plan
Job Demand Analysis
- on-site work evaluation to determine the critical physical demands of a job
- detailed report outlines the job’s physical requirements including strength, body positions, balance and agility
Personal Training
- sessions with a kinesiologist provide continued care after a physiotherapist-directed rehab program
- available as a primary treatment option when recommended by a family physician or from a functional capacity evaluation
